“Here we go again/give you more nothing lesser” yells Adrock on the aptly-titled ‘Make Some Noise’, the opening track from the Beastie Boys’ long-awaited eighth album. How, indeed, could we expect anything less? 25 years on from their chart-destroying debut ‘Licensed to Ill’ and the New York trio are back with their latest effort ‘Hot Sauce Committee Part 2’. Over the past quarter-century, the boys have given us plenty of reasons to expect great things. On their previous six albums since ‘Licensed to Ill’, the Beastie Boys’ sound has matured, evolved and expanded to transform them into one of the most diverse and highly-regarded acts in the world, successfully redefining them at a more gradual and convincing pace. Long gone are the days of pop hits such as ‘Fight for Your Right to Party’, although an amusing nod towards their early classic is made here.

In the three years since Atmosphere last dropped a full length record on the world, they've been far from stagnant, staying at the top of their game in every respect. For the better part of two years, Atmosphere toured the globe in support of their critically acclaimed - and #5 Billboard Top 200 charting - album, ‘When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold’, which brought their combined album sales up to the 1.5 million mark. And in their "spare" time, the group returned home to Minneapolis in 2009 to record their 2010 double EP, ‘To All My Friends, Blood Makes The Blade Holy’, an homage to their friends.

Californian punk rockers Strung Out have confirmed details of their upcoming ‘best of’ album ‘Top Contenders’, which is due for release on 19th July. The album will feature 23 songs taken from the band’s seven albums and two EPs released to date, as well as three specially-recorded new bonus tracks, released exclusively on this album.
